Urlesque.com and Know Your Meme are throwing another internet-themed costume party, “Happy HallowMEME Party” on Halloween Eve (October 30th) at 9pm at Fontana’s Bar (105 Eldridge Street between Grand and Broome).
“Unlike any Halloween party you’ve ever attended, Happy HallowMEME will celebrate web culture with guests donning costumes celebrating notorious web memes and viral video stars.”
We’ve uploaded some of the photos from our visit to Big Apple Comic Con this weekend. Nelson is still there today, tooling around for more interviews. Check our photos from yesterday on our Flickr page, and keep an ear out for our recorded coverage, coming soon!
Apparently something called the “Hyperspace Hoopla” is performed every weekend at Hollywood Studios. The finale? Star Wars characters getting down to popular hits:
“So I’ve been working on the Umi Zoomi Christmas special and have been listening to the geekcast christmas episode to get into the christmas spirit. I just want to say WTF…. you won’t play Dominick the Christmas Donkey” cause you don’t want to lose listeners but you will play “I’m Giving Santa a Pikachu for Christmas”. Its the biggest load of BS ever. Holy crap guys that song is stuck in my head and it won’t leave me alone… I HATE YOU ALL!!! Your Friend ~Joe ”
Well, what do you think? Which is the less insufferable song?
The New York Geekcast is hosted by Nelson Diaz and David Pagano. These two self-proclaimed nerds (along with their friends) cover anything and everything dorky -- movies, music, comics, video games, television -- while bringing a unique New York sensibility to it all.
