Some of you may be wondering….where’s ep23: Media Overload?
Unfortunately an accident occurred while editing Media Overload and it was overwritten and now does not exist.
Apologies to our listeners but have no fear, we are working towards a new topic.
We’d like to thank our guests: Andrew, Sarah, Erin and Sarah’s dad Paul Wickliffe of Skyline Productions who offered great insight into the music industry and who we hope to have on again at some future date.
While Episode 23’s topic is still being decided it will include some coverage on the Big Apple Comic Con which we’ll be at this weekend Oct 16th -18th.
We will be visiting the topic of Media Overload in the future so stay tuned!
Our friend Chris Murphy recently posted an article to Comics Alliance which seeks to even out (as much as one article can) the disconnect between men’s and women’s Halloween costumes where the sexiness factor is concerned.
Remember kiddies, us geeks will be hanging out at the Big Apple Comic Con Oct 16th-18th. If you’re heading over there too, drop us a line and maybe we could get a comment from you, YES YOU… about all the wonderful freaks, geeks and stars at the con!
Over on ThinkGeek, they’re selling a pretty awesome Vulcan “Live Long and Prosper” Foam hand. Though stereotypically, the idea of Trekkers and sports events somehow converging is a strange one.
Talking Heads being my favorite band, it made me sad to realize that I had overlooked the 25th anniversary of their amazing concert film, Stop Making Sense. It’s coming out on Blu-ray next week – might be time for me to actually purchase a Blu-ray player.
In honor of this release, here’s the amazing David Byrne “Self-Interview” that was made to promote the film, and appears on the DVD as an extra feature.
This Saturday we will be recording episode 23 of the New York Geekcast, “Media Overload”.
We’ll be discussing how there’s way too many games, movies, shows, books, and albums that we’re trying to find time to play, watch, watch, read, and listen to. That is, if we can decide which of the dozens of multimedia players out there we want to consume this media on.
If you’ve got questions or other remarks on this episode, either leave us a comment on this post or shoot an e-mail to thegeeks@nygeekcast.com. Thanks!
The New York Geekcast is hosted by Nelson Diaz and David Pagano. These two self-proclaimed nerds (along with their friends) cover anything and everything dorky -- movies, music, comics, video games, television -- while bringing a unique New York sensibility to it all.
