		<description>This used to be why I had respect for Jim Cameron as a filmmaker. He was able to portray tough female roles really well, like Ripley and Sarah Connor -- even giving them some complexity, like in T2 where Sarah is basically a crazy person for the first and second act. 

And of course, we know that Ripley in Alien was written as a male role and changed to a female later when Sigourney Weaver was cast.</description>

My favorite animation director Hayao Miyazaki usually has strong female protagonists and I think they&#039;re some of the strongest characters in all of film male or female.

Especially in Nausicaa of the valley of the wind.

I think it&#039;s sad that we don&#039;t have more strong female animated characters. But I think we have some friends here who will change that, as Dave said! :oD</description>
