Steve Stein says, “Happy 100th birthday, Manhattan Bridge! At numerous periods in my life, I crossed you every day on the Q or B (or Q diamond… or D, way back in the day). You are good at connecting boroughs & allowing impressive views of the Brooklyn Bridge, which is aesthetically superior to you in every way. No offense.
“Also, you smell like Chinese food.”
Thanks to Theresa for finding this lovely photo, and thanks to whoever made it happen. Some things can only be improved.

Here’s an article from Newsarama.com: “The Fangirl Invasion.” It talks about the influx of females in fanboy culture (specifically at the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con), which is apparently not just for fanboys anymore.

Thanks to my fellow fangirl Puina for the article.

As Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is one of my favorite movies, it makes me sad to hear that writer/director John Hughes passed away today at the age of 59. Hughes is well-known for a slew of ’80s movies, including The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, and Weird Science.
I guess this means we’ll never get Ferris Bueller 2…
