<p>Last episode we talked about 3-d imagery on the big screen, but what about actual physical 3-d&#8230;such as the awesome <a href="http://www.areaware.com/proddetail.asp?prod=dwc1">Cubebot from the David Weeks Studio!</a></p>
<p>Cubebot is a wooden robot that can fold into a cube or unfold into just about any pose you can imagine. It&#8217;s inspired by <a href="http://www.cleverwood.com/kumiki.htm">Japanese shinto kumi-ki puzzles</a> and has joints that use little rubber bands giving him remarkable flexibility.</p>
<p><span id="more-1522"></span></p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1532" title="cubebot_closeup" src="http://www.nygeekcast.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/cubebot_closeup.jpg" alt="cubebot_closeup" width="509" height="382" /><br />
 <img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1533" title="cubebot_hand" src="http://www.nygeekcast.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/cubebot_hand.jpg" alt="cubebot_hand" width="509" height="382" /><br />
It&#8217;s a really fun combination of a puzzle toy and an action figure&#8230;much like The Transformers. It&#8217;s almost like this guy is a primitive ancestor <br />
 of the Transformers.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">With a little work I could see this toy used for some sweet stop motion animation and I&#8217;m itching to try that myself (or with buddies&#8230;.ahem&#8230;cough cough&#8230;.<a href="http://paganomation.com/playback.htm"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">David.</span></a>)</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I&#8217;m betting this is going to be a hot sell for the upcoming holiday season as well so get em&#8217; soon!</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter" title="cubebot_standing" src="../wp-content/uploads/2010/09/cubebot_standing.jpg" alt="cubebot_standing" width="509" height="382" /></p>
